“upwardly mobile” is a tounge-in-cheek reference to the thought that we can “have it all.” In my 20s when I started this blog I was trying to be “ballin’ on a budget” as my friend arsene would say…. as fancy as i could be on a temp-job salary in Los angeles. Married now with a cat and a co-op in Evanston, there may be more funds but they certainly aren’t unlimited. How can we make the most of what we’ve got and also enjoy great food and drink while we’re at it. My original opening paragraph below still rings true even if it is a bit cheesy:
